K line purely electrically driven Vehicles as a means of combating the chaos in urban traffic are not a new idea. Nevertheless, Rinspeed has taken on this topic and packed some smart details into its two-seater Oasis.
The Oasis, which is only 3.60 meters long, 1.92 meters wide and 1.52 meters high, is positioned for a better overview large glass surfaces, the doors are also fully glazed. The body consists of a composite structure that spans a steel chassis. For more maneuverability - the wheelbase is 2.36 meters - the completely covered front wheels can be turned so far (70 degrees) that the electric dwarf can almost turn on the spot. The turning circle is specified as 6.75 meters. The wheel sizes measure 155/55 R 14 at the front and 215/45 R 20 at the rear. Solar modules on the roof contribute to the energy balance.
The Rinspeed Oasis is powered by two 40 kW and 45 Nm electric motors on the Rear axles that draw their energy from a 12 kWh battery. The range should be around 100 km. The Oasis should make the sprint to 100 km /h in 9.7 seconds, a maximum of just over 130 km /h is possible.

Green space on board
The interior of the Oasis should be more of a living room than a workplace. Armchair, sideboard, TV and of course a multifunctional steering wheel. The windshield serves as a screen for both virtual and augmented reality. The Rinspeed Oasis is also variable in its performance profile. A code-protected “drawer” in the rear, which can also be cooled or heated as required, makesthe Oasis for pizza delivery, small van or just practical.
Another feature makes the Oasis ecological. The Swiss have created a small green area on the dashboard where flowers or radishes can be grown. Others only offer renewable eco-trees digitally in the instruments.
After the CES, the Rinspeed Oasis will also be shown at the Detroit Motor Show.
