600 hp from a V8 vacuum cleaner

The Cadillac DPi-VR is based on the same Dallara chassis as the Mazda, but Cadillac relies on an all-American concept for the drive. While a small two-liter four-cylinder with turbocharging provides 600 hp in the Mazda, Cadillac relies on a 6.2-liter V8 vacuum cleaner with dry sump lubrication, which was derived from the V8 in the Cadillac CTS-V. Here too, due to the regulations, there are 600 hp, which are achieved at 6,800 rpm. The speed limit is 7,600 rpm. The sequential transmission comes from the specialist X-trac, the camera-based rearview mirrors from the series CT6.

The Cadillac DPi-V.R will make its debut at the end of January 2017 on the legendary Daytona circuit. The season opening classic takes place there with a race duration of 24 hours.
