D he new VW Golf Blue Motion competes with a 110 hp and 250 Nm 1.6 liter TDI engine. The diesel should consume an average of just 3.2 liters per 100 kilometers (CO2: 85 g /km). On the other hand, the economy diesel runs up to 202 km /h. The third generation Golf Blue Motion will be launched in summer 2013 in the Trendline and Comfortline equipment versions. Prices have not yet been named.

Lightweight construction and aerodynamic fine-tuning

The economy Golf was realized through lightweight construction - including minus 26 kilograms in the chassis and minus 37 kilograms in the body -, engine-side measures, super rolling resistance tires with increased air pressure, a longer gear ratio of the five-speed manual transmission, start-stop system and recuperation mode as well as targeted aerodynamic modifications.

These include a chassis lowered by 15 millimeters, a roof spoiler, side air deflectors on the rear window, an externally closed radiator grille, partially closed ventilation grille, an optimized cooling air duct, special underbody panels, optimized brake cooling ducts and C-pillar spoilers.
