Nissan Note in the used car-Ckeck
Subscriptions & booklets

I with a small note you don't have to do without anything. Like large vans, it has a rail system for the back seat. If you have little luggage, the bench slides back to give you legroom; if the bench is right at the front, up to 437 liters fit into the trunk. Bulky luggage up to 2.40 meters in length can also be stowed over the folded front passenger seat. The successor model, which has been on the market since mid-2013, does not have a sliding back seat.

Since 2013, the Nissan Note has got by without a sliding rear seat.

Motor

For The two petrol engines are particularly interesting. They come from Nissan and come with 1.4 and 1.6 liters displacement to 88 and 110 hp respectively. Both are not quiet, especially with high numbers of tours, but the consumption is okay with less than seven liters. The two 1.5-liter turbo diesels from Renault with 86 and 104 hp are more economical, consumption values of around five liters are feasible, and early vehicles before 2005 were delivered without a particle filter.

Body

Thanks to the longer chassis compared to the Modus, the Note, like the Grand Modus, has an external length of 4.08 meters, which is still suitable for large cities. The NCAP crash test certifies that the Note body has high passive safety reserves: four out of five stars.

Processing

The variable equipment is practical, as is the choice of materials. Hard plastic is above all cheap and easy to care for - but not always rattle-free and noble. The seats, which are very soft when new, do not offer much lateral support after years of use. There are plenty of shelves for this.

The petrol engine has up to 110 hp . The diesel has 104 hp.

Safety

The high center of gravity and the less rigid chassis design ensure that the fast corners. ESP should therefore be on board, but has only been offered as standard since August 2010.

Chassis

The comparatively long wheelbase ensures proper ride comfort and acceptable steering behavior. The chassis components with higher mileage should be inspected by a specialist before buying.

How reliable is the grade?

This is what the Dekra testers say: The former class leader does not show any major weaknesses, but still only ranks in the middle of its class. For vehicles over 50,000 km, the chassis should be checked for defective rubber mountings on the wishbones as well as stabilizer and coupling rod mountings. Occasionally, vehicles with broken springs and minor defects in the exhaust system are noticed.

Which engine is recommended?

The practical Nissan Note is clear. Just like its engine portfolio with two economical petrol engines and two even more economical turbo diesels. For the city and for frequent short-haul journeys with an annual mileage of less than 15,000 kilometers, we recommend the 110 hp 1.6 petrol engine, which is available with an automatic, albeit rarely. Anyone who opts for a diesel will drive well with the powerful 1.5-liter turbodiesel from Renault with 86 hp and also amazingly cheap.

Which model year?

ESP was first from August 2010 series. The price of the Note is generally lower than that of the comparable Renault Grand Modus. Diesel before 2006 can also be quite cheap. Has a particle filter been retrofitted?

Which equipment makes sense?

If you want full variability through a double loading floor, choose at least the Acenta equipment. This also includes the comfort package with CD radio and air conditioning. The parking aid was optional from 2010.

What does it cost?

Good 2010s can be found around 7,000 euros. Whether diesel or petrol plays a subordinate role. Ultimately, the decisive factors in price are the optical condition and the view of various weak points on the chassis.
