B is on the four doors, each body part was redesigned on the VW Touran, asserts VW. The new VW Touran, which is celebrating its world premiere at the AMI in Leipzig, also bears the new VW face with a horizontal orientation that has already been introduced by Golf & Co. The new rear is characterized by wide split lights, an enlarged rear window and a new roof edge spoiler.

VW Touran with new technical features

VW is re-evaluating the interior of the Touran with new materials and redesigned instruments orderly controls and freshly designed applications. The head restraints in rows two and three can now be lowered and thus improve the view to the rear.

The new technical features in the VW Touran include the optional permanent high beam, dynamic chassis control, which is subject to a surcharge, and a touchscreen navigation system , the optional panoramic sliding roof and the new Parking Assistant for almost automatic parallel and lateral parking.

The equipment lines of the Touran, which is now offered as Trendline, Comfortline and Highline, have also been reorganized.

New, more economical engines for the VW Touran

There was plenty of movement under the bonnet. Six new gasoline and diesel engines are being introduced here. The basic engine will in future be a 1.2-liter turbo four-cylinder with 105 hp and 175 Nm. VW specifies the average consumption as 6.4 liters (149 g /km CO2); if the optional Bluemotion Technology package is ordered, consumption should drop to 5.9 liters (139 g /km CO2). The 1.6 liter TDI with 105 hp in the Touran Blue Motion is even more economical. This should consume an average of just 4.6 liters (121 g /km CO2).

The engine range is complemented by two 1.4 TSI units with 140 and 170 hp and a derived EcoFuel variant. The four diesel engines have been completely redesigned. The basic self-igniter is a 1.6-liter with 90 hp, the 105 hp version already mentioned above. The two-liter TDI produce 140 and 170 hp. All engines meet the Euro 5 emissions standard and should significantly undercut their predecessors in terms of consumption. The new VW Touran will go on sale in August. Prices for the new model generation have not yet been announced.
