VW recall 01C5: VW is buying back zero-series cars

Z Numerous owners of these vehicles from a wide variety of model series from the construction period December 30, 2005 to September 19, 2017 are currently receiving mail from the car manufacturer via the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). VW would like to buy back the cars of the registered owner.

Cars do not correspond to the production status

The reason given by the automaker is that the vehicles may not correspond to the production status. Since VW cannot use the vehicle documentation to determine without a doubt whether there are restrictions on individual security systems, VW wants to buy back the cars. According to research by auto motor und sport, the affected cars were originally used for internal purposes by Volkswagen AG and should not have been sold that way.

Models from the Up, Golf and Golf Plus series are among others affected , CC, Scirocco, Touran, Polo, Tiguan, Sharan, Passat, Phaeton and Touareg. In total, VW speaks of around 6,700 vehicles.
