VW reaches an agreement with the US judiciary and names six culprits

A few days before the swearing-in of the elected US President Donald Trump has Volkswagen reached an agreement with the US authorities. A major part of the agreement on the exhaust scandal i st the payment of fines and penalties in the amount of 4.3 billion US dollars (equivalent to 4.1 billion euros). The comparison is tied to conditions: VW must improve its compliance and control systems and get an independent supervisor for the next three years.

Müller regrets the diesel crisis

Volkswagen boss Matthias Müller says im Connection with the agreement: 'Volkswagen deeply and sincerely regrets the actions that led to the diesel crisis.' The chairman of the supervisory board, Hans-Dieter Pötsch, states: Volkswagen is a different company than it was 16 months ago. VW names names

The Bild newspaper also reports that VW is said to have named the names of six managers to US authorities . Among other things, the name of ex-chief developer Heinz-Jakob Neußer is in the admission of guilt. The names of five managers from engine development, exhaust aftertreatment, quality management and product safety are also mentioned.
