D he new VW Polo BlueGT comes with a completely new one developed 1.4 liter TSI engine. The turbo four-cylinder develops 140 PS, 250 Nm and is positioned exactly between the 1.2 TSI with 105 PS and the 180 PS strong Polo GTI.

Cylinder deactivation for the VW Polo BlueGT

The Polo BlueGT presented at the Geneva Motor Show is expected to accelerate from zero to 100 km /h in 7.9 seconds. The maximum speed is given as 210 km /h. Much more remarkable, however, are the consumption figures given by VW. On average, the Polo BlueGT should only chase 4.6 liters of petrol through the injection nozzles, with the optional seven-speed DSG it should be just 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers -Stop system and recuperation as well as cylinder deactivation, which VW calls ACT. Under low or medium load conditions - in the engine speed range between 1,250 and 4,000 rpm and at torques between 25 and around 100 Nm - the system shuts down the second and third cylinders. The driver then receives a notification in the multifunction display between the speedometer and the rev counter.

VW Polo BlueGT with GTI equipment features

The VW Polo BlueGT can be recognized by its 17-inch alloy wheels on the outside , GT logos, an exhaust cover and the front and rear aprons borrowed from the Polo GTI. The side skirts come from the Bluemotion models. In addition, the Polo BlueGT is refined with a black painted radiator grille, R-Line ventilation grille in the bumper and black exterior mirrors. The lowering of the Polo by 15 millimeters and a special underbody paneling have a positive effect on the aerodynamics.

GTI instruments, a leather sports steering wheel, a black headliner, sports seats and various chrome surrounds enhance the interior.

The new VW Polo BlueGT should go on sale in July. The basic price for the dynamic saver is 19,650 euros.
