The drive of the VW Golf HyMotion is based on a 100 kW electric motor on the front axle, which was adapted from the E-Golf. The fuel cell as the energy supplier is also located under the front hood. The hydrogen is stored in four high-tech carbon fiber tanks located in the underbody in front of and behind the rear axle. They allow a range of 500 kilometers. The study is refueled after just three minutes. The VW Variant HyMotion accelerates from zero to 100 km /h in 10.0 seconds. For field tests, the drive technology from the VW Golf Variant HyMotion was also installed in a US Passat.
