VW emissions affair: crisis manager for the USA and Europe

I m In the difficult US market, VW surprisingly does without a direct successor for Michael Horn, who recently resigned. Instead, the head of the North America region, the former BMW manager Hinrich Woebcken, is to take over the position in personal union. Woebcken did not take up the post until April 1st. In addition, the North America region should be able to operate more independently in the future. VW has long been critical of not having the right models for the US market in its range.

Manfred Bort has been appointed crisis manager for the emissions affair in Europe. Bort was previously Head of Quality Assurance at the Volkswagen brand. A VW spokesman for the dpa news agency had confirmed the appointment as 'Commissioner for dealing with the diesel issue in Europe'.
