D amit is already debuting the second generation of the higher-level model at the Geneva Motor Show VW Golf. The cross version makes up half a dozen of the Golf series. In addition to the new Cross Golf, the range now includes the classic VW Golf Sedan, the Golf Plus, Golf Variant, Golf GTI and the new Golf R.

The new VW Cross Golf is based on the VW Golf Plus. It is intended to bridge the gap between Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) and Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and, above all, appeal to those customers who place great value on a raised seating position and great flexibility.
The engines of the sixth Golf -Version all meet the EU5 emissions standard. As with the other models, Volkswagen is also downsizing the Cross Golf: the smaller displacement is compensated for by means of turbocharging. There is a choice of three turbocharged petrol engines (105 to 160 hp) and two common rail diesels (105 and 140 hp). The basic petrol engine develops 105 PS, above that ranks the 1.4 TSI with 122 PS, which is available from 25,300 euros.

As The top engine is the well-known 1.4-liter TSI with turbo-compressor charging, which sends 160 hp to the front wheels (price: from 26,875 euros). It should be content with an average of 6.8 liters per 100 kilometers (CO2 emissions: 159 g /km) and be up to 207 km /h. Its maximum torque of 240 Newton meters is already available at 1,500 crankshaft revolutions. The standard six-speed gearbox can be replaced with a seven-speed DSG for an extra charge.
For fans of the compression-ignition engine, VW has two common-rail diesels with 1.6-liter (105 hp) and two in the Cross Golf Liters of displacement (140 hp, from 28,800 euros), both of which have a standard particle filter. The two-liter TDI should consume an average of 5.3 liters of diesel (138 grams of CO2 per kilometer). Its maximum torque of 320 Newton meters is 1,750 tours. The 1.6-liter diesel is not due to come onto the market until a later date.
The diesel models have a manual six-speed gearbox as standard. With the exception of the 105 hp TSI, a double clutch transmission is available for all engines. While six gears are available in the 140 hp diesel, seven gears are available in all other variantsCross version differs from the other Golf models thanks to the anthracite-colored all-terrain cladding and the chassis, which is 20 millimeters higher. Widened wheel arches, sill panels and the front and rear bumpers with underride protection ensure the desired off-road look. In addition, the Cross Golf sports fog lights, chrome applications, roof rails, silver mirror caps and special 17-inch alloy wheels as standard.
The VW Cross Golf can now be ordered at prices from 24,425 euros. The surcharge for the versions with six and seven-speed DSG is 1,800 euros.
