T he Wolfsburg-based carmaker will again be in the same hall as it was two years ago to be found: At that time, Volkswagen presented a total of 54 vehicles on 9,000 square meters. The booth at the IAA 2013 will be just as lavish again.

Electric cars E-Golf and E-Up

The two Stromer VW E-Golf and E-Up are ready for series production. But before they go on sale in autumn, they will celebrate their trade fair premiere at the IAA 2013. The VW Golf Blue-E-Motion study was powered by an 85 kW electric motor, which has a maximum torque of 270 Nm. The electric dwarf is powered exclusively by a 60 kW electric motor on the front axle. The lithium-ion battery of the 1,185 kilogram E-Up is integrated into the vehicle floor and, with a storage capacity of 18.7 kWh, should provide a range of up to 150 kilometers.

Two other models of the Golf VII

Two other model variants of the Golf VII are also celebrating their premieres at the IAA 2013: The Golf Plus and the Golf R. The future top model of the seventh Golf generation has a two-liter turbo with around 300 PS under the hood, sits on 18-inch wheels and has, among other things, a sports suspension. The Golf Plus of the current series should come onto the market in spring 2014 and be given a different name.

The refreshed VW Touareg will continue to have the same name. While the changes to the outer and inner design will be marginal, there is news in the area of engine selection. With the 184 hp 2.0 TDI four-cylinder from the Golf GTD, a new, economical base diesel could move in, which could replace the three-liter V6 TDI. The Touareg also lacks a plug-in hybrid. However, it is questionable whether it will come with the facelift.

European model of the VW Taigun?

The VW Taigun mini SUV is due to hit the market in early 2016. The front-wheel drive car with increased ground clearance and all-round paneling has a 280 liter trunk. It is powered by a three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with 110 hp. The VW Taigun belongs to the New Small Family, is 3.86 meters long and is based on the Up. The car manufacturer will show a European model of the Taigun at the IAA 2013. How close it will be to series production remains to be seen.

Volkswagen also didn't want anything about the supporting programannounce. Two years ago IAA visitors had a test drive fleet of 74 vehicles available.
