D he start of production for the Volvo V60 Plug-in hybrid is planned for November 2012, but sales should start in the first half of the year. The production of the hybrid model is limited to 1,000 units in the first phase. These vehicles are offered in a Pure Limited version, which is based on the highest equipment line Summum. The price for the Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid on the German market is 56,900 euros, around 5,000 euros more than a comparable V60 model with a conventional diesel drive.

Highlights of the features of the Volvo V60 plug-in -Hybrid are the exterior color Electric Silver with high-gloss black body parts, aerodynamically shaped 17-inch alloy wheels, black leather seats with contrasting seams, blue-gray wooden inlays on the dashboard and in the door panels, a black leather steering wheel and a leather gear knob with an illuminated gear indicator. The standard equipment also includes the speed-dependent power steering, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, front and rear parking sensors, a Bluetooth hands-free system, a multimedia DVD audio system with 4x40 watt amplifier, eight loudspeakers and a 7-inch color display and the Volvo on Call emergency communication system.

The energy supplier Vattenfall is also offering V60 customers a starter package for the start of series production of the Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid, which includes a supply contract for the delivery of climate-neutral electricity and a charging station.

The Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid competes with a system output of 285 hp and 640 Nm. The Swede can cover up to 50 kilometers purely electrically. The standard consumption of the V60 should be 1.9 liters, the CO2 emissions 49 g /km.
