V isser has been with Volvo since 2012 and currently holds the position of Vice President Sales and Marketing. His predecessor Doug Speck left the company at his own request and returned to the USA. In an advisory capacity, Speck will continue to perform tasks on the Chinese market for the company until the end of 2013.

The 49-year-old Belgian Alain Visser was previously a member of the Opel Executive Board for more than seven years and changed hands in March 2012 within the GM group from Opel to Chevrolet. Visser then moved to Volvo in September 2012.

In addition to the change at the top of Marketing, Sales and After Sales, another change will take effect on July 1, 2013 within the Executive Board of the Volvo Car Group. Under the direction of Lars Wrebo, currently Senior Vice President Manufacturing, the responsibilities for purchasing and production will then be brought together under one roof. Axel Maschka will leave the company with the merger of the responsibilities for purchasing and production.
