It's not even on the market yet. But for the readers of auto motor und sport the A udi R8 Spyder is already the ultimate in convertibles.

The Audi R8 Spyder is the best car in the convertible category

With half a percentage point ahead of the Mercedes SL (13.2 percent of the votes), the open-minded Ingolstadt-based man immediately took the top spot among the best cars in the' convertibles 'category. In the previous year the SL had also taken second place with 12.2 percent - behind the Porsche 911 Cabrio . The latter, however, no longer received the 13.6 percent of the readers' votes from 2009, but only 11.3 percent.

Fourth place goes to another open representative with the four rings on the cooler: Das Audi A5 Cabrio united ten percent of the votes - a significant increase over last year's result of just 2.8 percent. The new BMW Z4 follows in fifth place with 8.1 percent. The open Bavarian can even position himself in front of a much more exclusive dream car: the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider, which took sixth place with 3.2 percent of the votes (previous year: 3.9 percent).

The Ferrari California wins the import car classification

In the import car rating it is enough for the open dream- Alfa for third place (8.3 percent). Aston Martin DB9 / DBS Volante (9.6 percent) and Ferrari California (10.1 percent) can position themselves in front of the 8C. The classic roadster Mazda MX-5 lands in eleventh position (3.5 percent compared to 4.0 percent in 2009).
