The Best Cars 2011: The winners in the luxury class

W e welcome the winner in the luxury class of the readers' choice' The best cars of 2001 '- the Mercedes S-Class. The luxury liner from Swabia took the top position in its class with 21.6 percent of the votes.

The other three places are also firmly in German hands. The Audi A8 came in second with 20.2 percent of the votes. The previous year's class winner, the Porsche Panamera, follows closely with a result of 19.7 percent. The thankless fourth place went to the BMW 7 Series with 13.8 percent. The top five are completed by the Aston Martin Rapide, who was able to leave the VW Phaeton and the Maserati Quattroporte behind with 8.2 percent.

With fifth place in the overall result, the Aston Martin secured itself Rapide also the top position in the import rating of the luxury class in the readers' choice 'The best Cars 2011 '. Here the Briton presented a clear result with 33.2 percent. The Jaguar XJ follows clearly in second place with 16.8 percent. The Maserati Quattroporte made the winner's podium with 14.6 percent. In fourth and fifth place followed with the Bentley Continental and the Rolls Royce Phantom, two other Britons. The first and only Japanese is in sixth place in the Lexus LS with 5.2 percent of the vote.
