15th place: Snake Pass (12.481 #)
The pass road, built in 1820, is a 19 kilometer section of the A57 trunk road between Sheffield and Glossop in England. It owes its name to the Snake Inn, which is now Snake Pass Inn and is on the western side of the Passes lies. The pass height is 512 meters above sea level. The average gradient is 5.2 percent, or 362 meters over seven kilometers. The greatest gradient is at kilometer 14 and is 8.2 percent.

The 850 kilometer long trunk road Cape Route 62 connects the provinces of the Western Cape and Eastern Cape in South Africa. It leads from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth and is the scenic alternative to Highway N2. From high cliffs, crystal clear streams to forests and vineyards, almost everything South Africa has to offer can be found on Route 62.

From the Northern Irish capital Belfast to To the historic city of Londonderry , the 190 kilometer Causeway Coastal Route runs along the north coast of Ireland. The road of death in Bolivia, or the Northern Yungas Road , is 30 kilometers long and is a 16-kilometer shortcut to Ruta Nacional 3. The single-lane road runs along steep slopes without guardrails and is only to be passed with great danger. Until the new two-lane bypass was built in 2007, up to 300 travelers died on the route every year. One of the biggest accidents happened on July 24, 1983 when a bus skid and killed 100 occupants. Nowadays it is especially popular with downhill bikers.
