N According to information from GTÜ spokesman Hans-Jürgen Götz, the self-employed person working on behalf of the organization during internal quality control was noticed in two cases due to improper work. In coordination with the responsible regional council of South Hesse in Darmstadt, this immediately led to its termination.

GTÜ pays for the re-screening

In the meantime, around 500 car owners have been written to and asked to present their car again. The GTÜ pays for the inspection. In contrast to the cases of bribery at the testing organization GTS in Baden-Württemberg, which affects 8,500 cars, according to GTÜ spokesman Götz it is a 'measure within the scope of quality assurance' and not an official order by the supervisory authority.

For customers, this means that they can drive to a test center of their choice, and GTÜ pays the costs in any case, even if the driver drives to the competition. If the car passes the inspection, it also receives the full sticker period of two years.
