Tesla Model 3 and Y recall: 2,822 vehicles affected

A recall in the USA causes trouble for 2,822 Tesla drivers.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Tesla have launched a recall campaign in the USA. A total of 2,822 customers of the electric car brand have to be present at their workshops in the coming days. Affected are the Model 3 from the production period January 3, 2019 to April 20, 2021 and the Model Y from the production period March 7, 2021 to June 4, 2021. The recall can be found with the NHTSA under number 21V-835 and with the manufacturer itself under number Sb-21-31-003.

The reason for the recall is a possible material defect. The front suspension control arm on the Model 3 and Model Y is attached to the subframe with two fasteners. On affected vehicles, over time the fastener may loosen or detach from the subframe, which could result in the side joint detaching from the subframe and rendering the vehicle uncontrollable. As a result, accidents can occur. In Germany, no recall is currently known.

Conclusion

A recall of the Tesla brand is currently causing trouble in the USA. 2,822 owners of the Model 3 and Model Y have to go to the workshops. The reason: attachment problems on the subframe.
