Sports car registrations September 2015: Ford Mustang stirs up the athletes

W How differently the sports car fascination can be presented is shown by the Top 3 in sports car registrations in September 2015. Right at the front is the Porsche 911, a design classic with rear-engine and rear-wheel drive. Closely behind is the Audi TT with a front-engine concept as well as front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive. Engine in front, drive exclusively in rear is the concept of the Ford Mustang, which has consolidated its third place from the previous month with even higher registration numbers.

Mercedes AMG-GT is pushing ahead

The Mercedes E-Class Coupé, which in the pre-Mustang era almost always stood safely on the podium, has to be content with fourth place. The Mercedes SLK and the Porsche Boxster are already clearly lagging behind. The Mercedes AMG-GT is approaching this with great strides.

Hybrid-i8 beats Audi R8

In the back field, the BMW i8 with its hybrid concept was once again able to keep the competitor Audi R8 behind. In the Ferrari stable, the new 488 GTB has now overtaken the replaced 458 Italia in the registration statistics.

Note : The registration statistics are the official information from the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Flensburg. The division into the respective classes is carried out by the manufacturer using a key number. The statistics can also show models that are not available on the German market or that are no longer being built. This peculiarity can occur with the KBA statistics if e.g. foreign vehicles are registered for the first time in Germany or vehicles are given a new ID number.
