E Europe is the station wagon continent, the love for large hatchbacks that combine the advantages of limousines and delivery vans is only so pronounced here. In Germany around 70 percent of all medium-sized cars sold are station wagons. In the case of the Superb of the predecessor series, the proportion was even greater (around 90 percent), and of course the new Skoda Superb also gets a station wagon version. It will appear on the market a little later than the sedan, will have its trade fair premiere at the IAA in autumn and will be available at Skoda dealerships in September.

Now Skoda is showing the first official pictures of the Skoda Superb Combi, as it will be called according to the tried and tested Skoda nomenclature, and gives a few key data that show that there are some reasons to look forward to the big Skoda.

Skoda Superb Combi has a capacity of 1,950 liters

Even with a large station wagon, you don't have to start with the secondary virtues. First of all, the Skoda Superb Combi is an elegant, beautiful car, it is easy to imagine that prospective buyers will choose it because they find it not only more practical, but also prettier. The proportions are right, just like the sedan, the Combi is longer and wider than its predecessor, and it fits more.

The maximum load volume is record-breaking in the middle class: the Superb has a capacity of 1,950 liters with the backrests folded down is significantly more than the competition such as Ford Mondeo or Opel Insignia has to offer, only the T-model of the Mercedes E-Class has a similar volume. Even with the rear backrests raised, the trunk still offers more than enough capacity for a family holiday.

Simply Clever in the Skoda Superb Combi

There are also numerous Simply Clever ideas typical of the brand. Five of them are Combi-specific and can all be found in the trunk: the practical push roller blind to cover the load compartment, the automatic roller blind release, the variable double floor, the flexible storage pocket and the shelves for the dismantled roof rack.

Likewise As with the sedan, the living space for a maximum of five occupants is lush, knee room and interior width are upper class. Not so the prices; They have not yet been determined, but those who are based on the predecessor should not be completely wrong: The Combi cost 1,000 euros more than the corresponding sedan.
