O evidently more and more young US- Customers on the limousine taste. The Toyota subsidiary brand for young buyers is reacting and introducing a compact notchback model at the New York Auto Show. The Scion iA, which is more or less a swaddled Mazda 2 Sedan and is also manufactured by Mazda in Mexico, does not make sedan humbug, but relies on a dynamic look like its brand siblings.
Scion iA from 16,000 dollars
The front of the Scion iA is defined by a huge, trapezoidal grille. Slim headlights extend far into the modeled fenders. Curves, beads and lines as well as 16-inch alloy wheels characterize the flanks. The curvy front end is followed by a trunk trunk. The cargo space hidden underneath can be expanded with a split rear seat backrest.
The engine range of the Scion iA is limited - there is only one 1.5-liter, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with 105 hp that drives the front wheels . It is shifted by a manual six-speed gearbox. A six-speed automatic transmission is available as an option.
Additional features include front, side and window airbags, a collision warning system, a reversing camera, cruise control, electric windows and exterior mirrors. And because the Scion iA is aimed at young customers, a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system is always on board. And the price: also youth-compatible. The Scion should cost almost $ 16,000 when it goes on sale.
