Samsung announces turbo battery

D he Korean electronics specialist wants to bring a new generation of electric car battery cells onto the market in 2021, which can be charged particularly quickly. In just 20 minutes, energy should be stored for a range of 500 km. This corresponds to around 80% of the charging capacity of a typical battery pack for modern electric cars.
New modules with more capacity
At the Detroit Motor Show, Samsung also showed new battery modules that are said to be particularly powerful . While conventional e-car batteries consist of modules with 12 cells with a capacity of 2-3 kWh, the new Samsung modules should consist of over 24 cells and have a capacity of 6-8 kWh. The Samsung module is a bit bigger, but lighter, consists of fewer parts and is safer. Samsung speaks of a weight advantage of 10 percent.
