' We are adapting our production to the weak demand, 'said the spokesman for Toyota Motor Europe, Etienne Plas, on Monday (February 22nd) in Brussels on request.

Production stop in France and England

This is how production in the plant in Valenciennes, France, will be in March and April interrupted. According to the company, some shifts will be removed from production. At the same time, the Japanese car maker is extending its production stop in the two British plants in Burnaston and in the Deeside engine plant. The spokesman said that the company would limit itself to one production line.

T oyota has nine plants in Europe and in 2009 produced around 517,600 cars there. Due to various defects, the car manufacturer recently had to recall a total of around 8.5 million cars to the workshops.
