T he time was too short to get a viable concept on its feet the Luxembourg investment firm Genii Capital announced. The group had surprisingly intervened a good two weeks ago.

Spyker is the favorite

This means that two more investors are now vying for the ailing Swedish brand : The most promising is the Dutch sports car manufacturer Spyker. On Monday, the head of the parent company General Motors, Ed Whitacre, reported 'advanced talks'. The former MAN boss Hakan Samuelsson and several Swedish colleagues also want to prevent Saab will be closed.

Time for the traditional manufacturer is running out. If a sale is not successful in the near future, GM will liquidate the subsidiary.
