D he US automaker hired an insolvency administrator to wind up Saab. The process will take a few months, but the takeover bids will still be examined.

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone offers for Saab

Union representatives protested against the appointment of an insolvency administrator. One of three available offers is that of the Dutch sports car manufacturer Spyker, who has been working with GM for weeks via Saab negotiates. Two new bidders appeared at the last minute: Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, who merged with the Luxembourg investment company Genii Capital, and the former MAN boss Hakan Samuelsson together with several Swedish investors. Saab has been writing losses almost consistently for years and, like GM, slipped into bankruptcy last year. Saab has around 3,400 employees in Sweden.
