A factory for the production of lithium hydroxide is to be built in Brandenburg. Rock Tech Lithium is investing around 470 million euros in Guben.

According to media reports, the Canadians are planning to build a lithium hydroxide production plant in Guben. The investment is said to be around 470 million euros. Production could start in the new factory in 2024, where around 160 jobs will be created. Rock Tech Lithium plans to produce 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide per year. This can be used to fill 500,000 electric car batteries. Half of the raw materials used are to be obtained from recycled old batteries by 2030.
