Result of readers' choice sport auto-Award 2012: The sportiest cars are German

For 32 years, the readers of sport auto have been choosing their favorites in the sporty car segment every year. In 2012 the concept was slightly modified and modernized. First a name change was due. From ' D he sportiest cars ' became the 'sport auto award'. As usual, the participants in 15 series classes and ten tuning classes voted on winners and places. What is new, however, are the four special classes, in which the most attractive racing series, the best customer racing program, the most exciting study and the sportiest alternative drive concept were available.

Porsche builds the sportiest series cars

With six wins in the series classes, the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer Porsche is again the most successful brand at the sport auto award in 2012. BMW was also awarded three successes for its sporting commitment. Audi achieved two class wins with the A1 Quattro and the RS3 Sportback. Volkswagen (Golf GTI Edition 35), Alpina (B3 S Biturbo), Lotus (Elise Club Racer) and Mercedes with the SLS AMG took one victory each.
