V or it was about two weeks nor the pictures of a model car that revealed the actually still secret Twingo roadster. Renault has now officially released the first pictures of the upcoming small convertible with the promising name 'Wind'.

The Renault Wind comes with a swivel roof

The special thing about the little French: The Renault Wind is said to be the only vehicle in its class that has an identical load volume of 270 liters with both the roof open and closed. This is made possible by the special roof construction: the swivel roof disappears behind the two passengers within twelve seconds and is - unlike current convertible roofs like the Mercedes SLK - not folded. A similar technology was already used in the Ferrari 575 Superamerica. The special roof construction also has a monetary advantage, as it is cheaper to produce than a complicated retractable roof. That is why the French are holding out the prospect of an 'affordable price' for the Renault Wind and promising an 'excellent price /performance ratio'. The basic price of the open Twingo should be around 15,000 euros.

The Renault Wind smells the engines with the Renault Twingo share. It is not yet clear whether he will inherit its 1.5-liter common rail diesel. The only 3.83 meter short convertible dwarf will be on the Geneva Motor Show presented to the public.
