D azu the partners will establish a new joint venture under the name eGT New Energy Automotive Co., Ltd. establish. The new electric vehicle based on an A-SUV Alliance platform is expected to roll off the assembly line from 2019.

Know-how from Renault-Nissan, production at Dongfeng

Renault and Nissan each hold 25 percent in the new joint venture. Dongfeng has a 50 percent stake. The production of the new electric car will take place in the Dongfeng Shiyan plant. The production facility is designed for a production of 120,000 vehicles per year.

The joint venture eGT will develop a fully networked electric vehicle that will be specially tailored to the requirements of Chinese customers. The new electric vehicle on an A-SUV Alliance platform is expected to roll off the assembly line from 2019. The alliance partners Renault and Nissan bring their know-how in the field of electromobility as well as their competence in the development of low-cost vehicles to the cooperation. Finally, Dongfeng should take over the cost-effective production of the new model.
