D he Duster Oroch study presented in autumn 2014 is now going into series production . Renault has added a loading area to the Duster especially for South America and will in future also be selling the successful SUV as a pickup.

The Duster Oroch was still on the beach at the Sao Paulo Auto Show -Mobile with upbeat color, panoramic glass roof and tiled interior. The production version of the Duster Oroch, which has now been unveiled at the Buenos Aires International Motor Show, doesn't come across as excited. However, the Duster Oroch has retained its shape: the rear has been lengthened accordingly, despite the five-seater cabin, which corresponds to the Duster we market under the Dacia label. The announcement by Renault that the Duster Oroch is suitable for one ton of payload sounds somewhat ambitious in view of the substructure.

One ton of payload

The Duster Oroch has the same engines as the standard model , which is also offered in South America as a front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive version. In addition to the 1.6-liter petrol engine, which we also know, Renault also supplies the Duster in South America with a two-liter petrol engine that has 148 hp. A diesel engine is not offered.

The Renault Duster Oroch will come onto the market in the second half of the year, but according to current planning only in South America. No counterpart to the Dacia Duster is currently planned for Europe - probably also in view of the manageable success that Dacia had with us with the Logan pickup. Renault did not disclose prices. The standard Duster is available in Argentina for the equivalent of 23,000 euros, in Brazil it is available from around 17,000 euros.
