Recall VW T6.1: Over 200,000 VW buses affected

Because the doors of more than 200,000 VW T6.1 buses worldwide can open while driving, VW is recalling the affected vehicles.

Volkswagen is recalling 200,181 T6.1 vehicles worldwide. The popular VW bus has a problem with its doors. To be more precise, the ingress of water at temperatures below freezing can impair the door locking mechanism and result in the door lock appearing to be locked. This means that the doors may open unexpectedly while driving. ,

VW will replace the Bowden cables on the affected vehicles during the necessary workshop visit. In Germany, 67,369 owners of a VW T6.1 built between 2019 and 2021 have to register for mail from Volkswagen. The recall can be found at the Federal Motor Transport Authority under the reference number 010870, and at the manufacturer under the code 57i1. ,
