Mercedes is recalling eleven S-Class models in the USA due to problems with the rear axle – including a vehicle from the top Maybach model.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the car manufacturer Mercedes are recalling eleven vehicles. Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that on certain 2022 model year S-Class vehicles, including the top-of-the-range Maybach (platform 223), the subframe welds on the vehicle's rear subframe may not match current production specifications. The affected vehicles could have welds fail suddenly and without warning, resulting in loss of vehicle control. For this reason, the NHTSA recommends that the affected vehicle owners "leave the vehicle at home immediately."
The following Mercedes model series are affected by the recall:
At the NHTSA, the recall is under the Find case number 22V-194. There is currently no recall for Germany in this regard.,
Mercedes has to make improvements to eleven vehicles in the S-Class model series. Welds on the rear axle suspension could break on certain model year 2022 vehicles. So far, no recall is planned for Germany.
