Recall Mercedes C-Class: engine failures

Mercedes has to recall 28,783 vehicles worldwide. The reason: a faulty fuel line.

The Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) has the car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz recall 9,828 C-Class vehicles in Germany. 28,783 vehicles are affected worldwide. Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that the adhesive force of the fuel supply line may not correspond to the specifications for certain vehicles of the C-Class series (BR 206) with 4-cylinder diesel engine . In this case, the fuel supply line could slip off the connection piece despite the correctly closed clamp. As a result, fuel could escape and the pressure in the fuel supply line could drop. This could lead to misfires or the engine switching off unannounced while driving.

This model is affected by the recall in Germany:

  • Mercedes-Benz C-Class (BR 206) from the production period October 2020 to June 2022
  • (worldwide: 28,783 vehicles /throughout Germany: 9,828 vehicles )

As a precautionary measure, the Mercedes-Benz service organization will check the fuel line on the affected vehicles and replace it if necessary. The planned visit to the workshop for checking and, if necessary, replacing the fuel line will take up to 1 hour. The KBA reference number is 012188, the manufacturer code of the recall is 0792213.,

    Conclusion

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 28,783 C-Class series vehicles worldwide and 9,828 in Germany. The reason: An incorrectly attached fuel line can lead to fuel escaping into the traffic area and an engine failure.
