The cold-formed nuts of the high-pressure fuel lines may become loose from the male-threaded outlet connection of the gasoline direct injection fuel pump when subjected to vehicle loads, particularly during dynamic driving maneuvers commonly associated with track driving.
If the nut loosens, fuel may leak out. The fuel line is located near engine components that have high operating temperatures. If fuel is released near these components, thermal activity can result.

McLaren will replace the high-pressure fuel lines, fitted with 15mm cold-formed rolled-thread nuts, with new high-pressure fuel lines, fitted with fully machined 16.5- mm nuts are equipped with a cut thread. This remedy will be carried out free of charge for the customer. Fully machined nuts with cut threads have a higher coefficient of friction than cold-formed nuts with rolled threads.
