With the S60 Polestar WTCC, the Swedes also have a successful touring car in their range . He had to compete against the Iron Knight.
In terms of paper, the race truck is clearly ahead in many areas. The Iron Knight draws 2,400 hp and 6,000 Nm of torque from its 12.8 liter in-line six-cylinder with four turbochargers. On the other hand there is a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder, which only has 400 hp and 470 Nm. But the WTCC only carries 1,100 kg of weight with it, the knight weighs 4.5 tons. The power-to-weight ratio is still 1.875 kg /hp and therefore on par with that of a Porsche 918 Spyder. The touring car has only 2.75 kg /hp. Volvo gives the sprint time to 100 km /h for both with 4.7 seconds.
