A m On Saturday (September 14th, 2019) the police are expecting around 20,000 demonstrators who will join the climate demo '#ausstieg'. The most active travel to the exhibition center on 13 routes. According to the police, the A648 and A661 will be temporarily blocked for this. Disabilities must also be expected on federal highways and in the city center.
Closures in the exhibition area on Saturday
Another demonstration march will start on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. at the Hauptwache and moves over the Bockenheimer Landstrasse towards the exhibition grounds. Both protest groups will then meet from 2:30 p.m. on the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage in the immediate vicinity of the exhibition center. The police will close the Theodor-Heuss-Allee, the Platz der Republik, the Senckenberg-Anlage and the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage for the event. Initiators of the protests include Greenpeace, the VCD traffic club and the General German Bicycle Club. Visitors to the IAA should therefore be at the exhibition grounds as early as possible and postpone their departure in the evening.
Blockades on Sunday
