At Lotus, the signs point to growth, but before brand new models are launched, the current athletes are modernized. First is the Lotus E vora turn to the series, which was exhibited at the Geneva Motor Show 2015.
Lotus Evora 400 with 406 HP
For the public appearance mortars Lotus the four-seat mid-engine sports car that has been around since 2009 the Lotus model range adorns, vigorously and makes it the strongest series model ever built. The 3.5-liter V6 from the Toyota shelf gets a new software installed, Lotus plants a new compressor for it and also installs a water-air cooler.
Thanks to these measures, the output of the V6 increases from 350 to 406 hp. This corresponds to an increase in performance of 16 percent. There is also more work to be done on the crankshaft, which is described in the new Lotus Evora 410 instead of 400 Nm (from 3,500 to 6,000 rpm) of torque.
A manual six-speed gearbox or a six-speed still provides the connection between the engine and the road -Automatic. However, the switch boxes have been revised. A new clutch disc is supposed to bring the manual switch into shape, and Lotus adjusted the gear ratio for the automatic transmission. Lotus also installs a limited slip differential for the hand control, which is supposed to provide better traction.
In 4.2 seconds to 100 km /h h3>
Speaking of traction: The new Lotus Evora 400 is supposed to break the 100 km /h barrier in 4.2 seconds. For comparison: the predecessor took four tenths longer for the standard sprint. The end of the Lotus Evora should only be at 300 items. For better cornering, Lotus revised the spring and damper units.
In order to curb the more potent Lotus Evora, the British engineers installed larger brake discs measuring 370 x 32 mm at the front and 350 x 30 mm at the rear ( Predecessor: 350 x 32 mm and 332 x 26 mm). The new brakes are hidden behind new forged aluminum wheels, 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. The wheel rims lost 3.3 kilograms.
Lotus Evora 400 is losing 22 kilograms
anywaythe British mid-engine sports car is said to have lost a few pounds. 22 kilograms to be exact. The Evora now weighs 1,415 kilos. Lotus posted further weight savings, among other things, in the front seats, which should be 3 kilograms lighter each. Getting into the Lotus Evora should also be easier. For this, the side skirts were 4.3 centimeters. They are also 5.6 centimeters lower. The interior with a revised dashboard should also be more spacious than its predecessor. For the first time, a start-stop system is also being used in the Lotus Evora.
The Lotus designers redesigned the front and rear. The front of the athlete is adorned with a new apron with three large air inlets. The more powerful engine requires more cooling. In the rear, the Lotus Evora has a new, three-part spoiler - the third brake light is in the middle - and a revised diffuser. Something has also changed in terms of length. The Lotus Evora grew by 3.5 centimeters to 4.394 meters.
When it comes to the price, the British have managed to stay below the magical 100,000 euro limit. 96,000 euros is the basic price in the list. Orders can be placed immediately, delivery will start in August.
