Portimao instead of Moscow: Formula 3 European Championship drives in the Algarve

But due to the immense logistical effort and the associated high travel costs, the teams have expressed the wish to reconsider the event.

Formula 3 in Portugal instead of Moscow

This is the concern Organizers complied. The series promoter and the FIA ​​looked for an alternative together, which was ultimately found with the event in Portimão. For the FIA ​​Formula 3 European Championship, this means a premiere on the circuit not far from the Algarve coast, which was only opened at the end of 2008.

The race weekend on the 4.684 kilometer Autódromo Internacional do Algarve will take place from 04. - September 6th as part of the Blancpain Sprint Series. A few days in advance, the official mid-season test days of the FIA ​​Formula 3 European Championship will be held at the same location.
