S beautiful combinations are on the rise. First and foremost, it is not the load volume that counts, but the elegant line. Porsche is also thinking of participating in the 'Shooting Brake' hype and is presenting the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo at the Paris Motor Show.
More cargo space , more utility
The new rear design turns the Panamera into a Sport Turismo. The new roof line ends almost horizontally in an adaptive roof edge spoiler made of carbon fiber laminate. Only below that does the short rear window, which belongs to a large tailgate, descend towards the also significantly shortened rear. Flat but wide rear light units, which are connected by a strip of light, extend far around the flanks. Together with a new window line, the rear body rests on wide C-pillars. Underneath is a muscular apron. Overall, with a length of 4.95 meters, the Sport Turismo was two centimeters shorter than the Panamera, which was often criticized for its rear end. The convincing look is also underlined by the new proportions, as the Panamera Sport Turismo has increased its width by almost six centimeters to 1.99 meters compared to the series.
Panamera facelift in advance
The face of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo is characterized by full-LED headlights, a strongly contoured bonnet and large cooling air ducts in the apron. All elements that the standard Panamera should also receive in its facelift.
In the interior, the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo is a pure four-seater. The individual sports seats are separated by a continuous center console, with the controls from the front area being largely mirrored in the rear. The driver looks at a large TFT display, which is flanked by two round instruments. Another touchpad on the center console combines almost all the other controls.
Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo with plug-in hybrid
The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo also offers goods of the future on the drive side. The further developed hybrid powertrain further combines a supercharged three-liter V6 petrol engine with 333 hp with a now 70 kW electric motor. The system output climbs to 416 hp. The electrical energy is buffered in a 9.4 kWh lithium-ion battery located under the trunk floorwas placed. What is new is that it can now also be recharged at the socket.
Porsche specifies 2.5 hours for refueling. The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo should travel up to 30 kilometers purely electrically, and the top speed should be up to 130 km /h in E mode. The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo completes the classic sprint at country road speed in under six seconds. An absolute maximum speed was not mentioned. In terms of consumption, however, the hybrid is specified with around 3.5 liters (CO2: 82 g /km).
And when will the study go into series production? Design elements and the new hybrid drive can be seen on the revised Porsche Panamera from 2013, the station wagon version is expected to be available from 2015.
