Porsche balance sheet 2016: with SUV models to 17.4% return

F or the sports car manufacturer Porsche, 2016 was the most successful business year in the company's history. The sports car manufacturer has reached new highs in terms of deliveries, sales, operating profit and the number of employees.

Deliveries increased by 6 percent to 237,778 vehicles; this generated sales of 22.3 billion euros (+4 percent). At the same time, the operating result rose disproportionately by 14 percent to 3.9 billion euros. The return developed particularly well from 15.8 percent (2015) to 17.4 percent. The workforce grew by 13 percent at the end of 2016 to 27,612.

SUV models as Porsche bestsellers

Porsche recorded particularly strong growth in China, where deliveries of 12% to 65,246 cars. The entire Asia /Pacific region grew by 6% to 93,212 deliveries. Europe grew by 5% to 78,975 vehicles (Germany: + 1%, 29,247), America by 6% to 65,591 (USA: + 5%, 54,280).

The bestsellers in the Porsche range are the Macan , of which 95,642 units were delivered in 2016 and the Cayenne, which was delivered more than 70,000 times worldwide. The 718 Boxster has 12,848 deliveries, the 911 32,409.
