M Porsche wants a further developed all-wheel drive Breathe even more driving fun and even more driving safety into the 911 models of the type 991. The wide rear remains characteristic of the new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4 S models. The wheel arches on the rear axle were each pulled 22 millimeters in width, the tires increased by ten millimeters in the tread width. The all-wheel drive models are also reserved for the red light strip that connects the rear lights. At the front, the all-wheel drive models can be recognized by dynamically emphasized cooling air inlets in the front.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4 with further developed all-wheel drive

The chassis, the engines and the gearbox are in the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 -Models are identical to the rear-wheel drive 911 except for the all-wheel-specific changes. The further developed all-wheel drive consists of an electronically controlled, map-controlled multi-plate clutch that distributes the power between the axles, an automatic brake differential and a traction control system that prevents the wheels from spinning by adjusting the engine output. Sensors check, among other things, the speed of all wheels, the longitudinal and lateral acceleration of the vehicle and the steering angle.

Depending on the equipment, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 sprints from zero to 100 km with 350 hp in 4.5 seconds /h (convertible: 4.7 seconds) and reaches a top speed of 285 km /h (convertible: 282 km /h). Equipped with the seven-speed dual clutch transmission, the average consumption should be 8.6 liters (convertible: 8.7 liters).

Porsche 911 Equipment further developed

With the 400 hp 3.8 liter boxer in the rear, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 S sprints to 100 km /h in 4.1 seconds (convertible: 4.3 seconds). The top speed is specified as 299 km /h (convertible: 296 km /h). The consumption figures with PDK should be 9.1 liters (coupé) and 9.2 liters (convertible).

The interior of the all-wheel drive models is only differentiated from the basic versions by a new menu in the instrument cluster. Here the driver is shown how the all-wheel drive distributes the power. With the Porsche 911 Carrera 4, Porsche is also expanding the equipment options for the 911. The dual-clutch transmission can now be combined with the active adaptive cruise control, which Porsche considers coupés to beA sliding glass roof is ready and the Sport Chrono Package will in future come with a double-declutching function when shifting down.

The new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 models will be available from the end of the year. Prices start at 97,557 euros for the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupé and 110,290 euros for the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabrio. The 4 S versions start at 112,313 euros (coupé) and 125,046 euros (convertible).
