A uch the VW- As in 2016, the Bentley and Lamborghini brands are not showing their innovations in Paris. Lamborghini provides the justification: “The world is constantly changing and Lamborghini, as a ... brand of luxury super sports cars that operate internationally in a niche market, wants to anticipate these changes. We are currently revising our strategy of being present at international motor shows, taking into account the positioning of our brand and the market in which we operate. For this reason, we carefully choose how we can present ourselves to customers, media and enthusiasts, including choosing the right locations where we want to be. ”After all, so much: the VW brands Audi, Skoda, Seat and Porsche are up represented the Mondial Paris.
Opel is probably also missing in Paris
Just like at the Paris Auto Show 2016, Ford will also stay away from the fair. Here, too, the reasoning sounds similar: 'Instead, we are concentrating more on Ford-specific presentation formats in order to inform the (media) public about our products, technologies and mobility solutions.' as well as Nissan and Infiniti. Economic reasons also play a role here. The new PSA brand Opel should not steal the show from the innovations from Peugeot and Citroën at the home fair. Last but not least, Volvo is also missing from the auto show. The Swedish brand had already announced in 2014 that it would no longer be present at all auto shows around the world. Since then, the Swedes have been concentrating on three trade fairs per year - in Europe the choice for 2018 fell on the Geneva Motor Show.
Many rejections at the IAA 2017
Already at the IAA 2017 were well-known Automakers canceled their coming. The electric car manufacturer Tesla did not come among others and provided the reason that they are not a traditional vehicle manufacturer and not fixated on the events of the industry. Peugeot, the Citroën brand DS as well as Nissan, Infiniti, Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce, but also the GM brands Cadillac and Chevrolet stayed away from the IAA 2017. Without giving any further reasons, the IAA visitors had to do without all brands of Fiat /Chrysler, i.e. Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia, Abarth and Jeep as well as Fiat Professional.
