Opel carsharer Maven is coming to Europe in 2017

O Pel also wants to lend cars in the future: With Maven, the automobile manufacturer is launching a car sharing service. General Motors started the service in the USA, and Opel will bring it to Europe in 2017. Initially, the Rüsselsheim-based company is relying on cooperation with the Meininger hotel group, as well as certain apartments and residences in Frankfurt and Berlin.

residents These apartments, hotels or furnished flats can book an Adam or an Ampera-e via an app. It is also conceivable that companies provide their employees with cars via Maven.

In the USA, the service has been available in 15 cities since spring 2016, and 14,000 customers use it. Car2, Go, the car sharing service from Daimler and Europcar, has two million customers worldwide; according to the company, around 550,000 users are registered in Germany. The car sharing cooperation between BMW and Sixt, DriveNow, has 580,000 customers in Germany. Anyone who has previously driven an Opel but does not want to own it can do so, for example, with Stadtmobil, which has around 52,000 customers in 180 German cities.
