K short construction time, low Production time, great enthusiasm - and a high price: the BMW 1 Series M Coupé has everything a future classic needs. Nearly. Tuner OK-Chiptuning from Neukirchen-Vluyn helps all those who mainly want more performance from the little Munich-based company - but not only.

Intercooler, downpipe, exhaust and chip bring the 1M to 440 PS

An Evo 2 performance intercooler and downpipes from Wagner Tuning provide the first horsepower boost. Then OK-Chiptuning installed an exhaust system from Eisenmann (type 'Race') and a stronger Sachs performance clutch, so that the series part is not destroyed by the increased power - and above all the increased torque. The tuner then optimizes the engine control unit for the new components and squeezes more power from the three-liter N54 unit with twin-turbo charging.

OK chip tuning gives the tuned 1-series M Coupé a performance of measured on the test bench 440 hp according to EC standards. That corresponds to a plus of a whopping 100 hp. The torque increases to around 700 Nm - immense and on a par with the M5. A BMW M4 has nine horsepower less and 'only' 550 Nm, but when empty and with manual transmission it weighs just as much as the 1 Series M Coupé: around 1,550 kilograms. Accordingly, the performance should also be similar, although OK-Chiptuning does not provide any information.

OK-Chiptuning-BMW 1er M in approx. 4.3 seconds to 100 km /h

The M4 accelerates to 100 km /h in 4.3 seconds with a manual gearshift - the 1 Series M Coupé will need a similarly short time despite the increased torque and due to somewhat poorer traction. Normally the 1M is limited to 250 km /h. OK-Chiptuning decided to remove the limiter, however. How fast the 1 Series M Coupé runs is not known. The small M should definitely beat the 300 km /h mark.

In addition, the powerful 1 Series gets an H&R chassis; 20-inch Schmidt rims with 245 mm tires at the front and 295 mm slippers at the rear rotate in the wheel arches on display. The carbon mirror caps, the carbon spoiler and the Alcantara steering wheel come from the BMW performance accessories.

The price for the performance kit (intercooler, downpipe, software optimization and installation) is 2,899 Euros.
