' We received the message that we are initially not admitted to the next step of the bidding process ', Meyer continued. The offer made was too low.

ADAC is offering a mid double-digit million amount

The car club offered a 'mid double-digit million amount' for the race track in the Eifel. Nürburgring GmbH is almost entirely owned by the State of Rhineland-Palatinate. She filed for bankruptcy in mid-2012. In addition to the race track, which according to Meyer was the focus of the bid, the package also includes the amusement park with the 'Ringracer' roller coaster and the 'Boulevard' shopping mile.

For the ADAC, the Nürburgring is an 'automotive cultural asset. We feel obliged to preserve this,' said Meyer der Bild.

The ring should cost 100 million euros

According to insider information, around 100 million euros are traded as a possible purchase price, a total of 400 million euros in taxpayers' money was sunk. The ADAC itself is closely associated with the Nürburgring as the organizer of the 24-hour race and other events. In an earlier scenario there was also a joint purchase of the Nürburgring by ADAC and some automobile manufacturers.

In our picture gallery we show you the development of the Nürburgring, which was created in 1927.
