Nissan recall: Emblem could injure drivers

Nissan is recalling 404,690 vehicles in the US. No recall on this subject is planned in Germany.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the car manufacturer Nissan have started a recall campaign in the USA. 404,690 vehicles are currently affected in the USA.

The resin emblem on the driver's airbag module cover may have a reduced durability in affected vehicles due to possible deviations in the production process. In this condition, cracks can develop over time and the emblem and mounting components could detach in the event of airbag deployment.

These models are currently affected by the recall in the USA:

  • Nissan Titan from the production period 09/25/2007 to 04/27/2011
  • Nissan Frontier from the production period 13 09/09/2007 to 12/23/2010
  • Nissan Xterra from the production period 09/13/2007 to 12/23/2010
  • Nissan Pathfinder from the production period 09/13/2007 to 12/23/2010
  • Nissan Armada from the production period 09/25/2007 to 04/28/2011
  • Nissan Quest from the production period 09/27/2007 to 07/15/2009
  • (total: 404,690 vehicles)

The repair is currently being investigated. Dealers will be notified starting February 10, 2023. A preliminary letter will be sent to owners of all potentially affected vehicles by April 10, 2023. The recall can be found at NHTSA under case number 23V-067.

    Conclusion
