Steering may break
Around 303,000 Frontier pick-up trucks and 283,000 Xterra SUVs can Rust on the steering means that in the worst case it breaks. There are already nine reports from Canada and Brazil. The cars rolled off the assembly line in factories in the USA and Brazil from 2001 to 2008.
In addition, a battery terminal in 18,500 Sentra compact cars has to be replaced, which causes contact problems. This makes the car more difficult to start or can, in individual cases, stop at low speeds. The vehicles were manufactured in Mexico this year.
Mainly affected in the USA
The majority of the affected cars are registered in the USA. A series of recalls by various manufacturers has shaken the important market for months. Toyota in particular made negative headlines, but BMW and Mercedes also had to ask drivers for repairs. Nissan itself recalled more than half a million vehicles worldwide in March due to defective brake pedals and fuel gauges.
