B A new crossover with a wheelbase of 2.53 Meters, Nissan speaks of a mixture of an SUV and a sporty vehicle. The 1.77 meter wide and 1.57 meter high Nissan Juke is said to be characterized by driving dynamics previously unknown in the B segment.

The Nissan Juke is closely based on the design of the Qazana study

The Nissan crossover is based closely on the Nissan Qazana study, which the Japanese published exactly one year ago on the Geneva Motor Show . The design borrowings on the Qazana at the front and the strikingly displayed wheel arches are particularly striking. The Nissan designers were also able to save the roof line sloping backwards and the relatively narrow side windows from the concept car to the series. The lines of the new Nissan Juke were created in the European Nissan Design Center in London. While the lower part of the crossover model deliberately reflects robust shapes, the upper part of the Juke body with the sloping roof line should appear particularly dynamic. The round headlights are inspired by the rally vehicles of the 60s and 70s, the taillights reflect the design of the Nissan 370Z reflected. The interior presents itself with Nissan-typical design elements that are reminiscent of the Juke's big brother, the Nissan Qashqai. The front center console is striking, the design of which was inspired by a motorcycle tank.

The SUV is based on the B-segment platform from Renault-Nissan and is manufactured in Oppama in Japan and in the Nissan plant in England roll off the assembly line in Sunderland. The Nissan Juke will debut in the European market during 2010. Then three engines will be available for the new crossover model.

The base engine is a new 1.6-liter petrol engine with 117 hp, which transmits a maximum of 157 Nm to the front wheels via a manual five-speed gearbox. Alternatively, the Nissan Juke 1.6 L can also be ordered with the continuously variable CVT transmission.

The most powerful petrol engine mobilizes 190 hp and 240 Newton meters thanks to turbocharging and direct injection from 1.6-liter displacement. In addition to the standard front-wheel driveAll-wheel drive is also available for this engine. This not only distributes the power between the two axles, but also selectively to the individual rear wheels if necessary. This is to prevent understeering in fast corners.

According to the manufacturer, the weight of the Nissan Juke is between 1,162 and 1,383 kilograms, depending on the version. A maximum of 415 kilograms can be loaded.

The 1.5-liter diesel from the Renault shelf makes 110 hp in the Nissan Juke

The only diesel in the Nissan Juke program is the one from the Renault -Regal well-known 1.5-liter dCi, which sends 110 hp at 4,000 rpm and up to 240 Nm at 1,750 rpm to the front wheels in the new Nissan crossover. Here the gears are sorted using a manual six-speed gearbox. All three engines meet the Euro 5 emissions standard.

As standard, the Nissan Juke rolls on 17-inch rims, which are covered with 215/55 tires. Nissan specifies the trunk volume at 251 liters, but it can be further increased by folding down the asymmetrically divided rear seats. Then a level loading area should be created. Nissan will offer the Juke in the three trim levels Visia, Acenta and Tekna. The Japanese did not want to give the exact prices yet. The Nissan Juke will also make its debut on the American US market in autumn 2010.
