S e nissan has had its GT-R super sports car in its range since the end of 2007. So it's been eight years now, which roughly corresponds to the life cycle of a car. A successor to the R35 is not yet in sight. And as Richard Emery, Managing Director and CEO of Nissan Australia, admits, the new GT-R R36 will be a long time coming.

Nissan GT-R 2020 at the earliest

'Um To be honest, we don't even talk about it in our company, 'said Emery in an interview with Australian auto website Motoring. 'As far as direct talks about the GT-R are concerned, we don't have it on our screen. It will definitely not be 2018, and I can't see it for 2019 either. It is not in the list of production plans for this period.'

We won't see the next Nissan GT-R until 2020 at the earliest. Until then, the R35 has to please the fans of the Japanese super sports car. The Nissan GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 that generates additional power via two turbochargers. The output of the engine is currently 550 hp. According to the manufacturer, the GT-R should rampage to 100 km /h in just 2.7 seconds. A value that has not yet been reproduced in our measurements.

In 2014, Nissan launched the GT-R Nismo, a lighter, harder and more powerful version with 600 hp. It is to be expected that Nissan will feed the current GT-R with a few updates before the new one is launched. As has already happened in certain model years since 2007.

Nissan, like many other manufacturers, has launched a concept study for the Gran Turismo 6 game. The Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo is supposed to carry design elements of future Nissan sports cars. In our photo show we show you the speedster of the future.
